"The police announced that they would not tolerate anti-monarchy banners"
Today was quiet and cheerful most of the United Kingdom, not just demonstrations (despite being were announced), partly because the police had warned it would respond forcefully to these and not tolerate anti-monarchy banners , which dissuaded several groups. Still, there were two small protests in central London, as Scotland Yard confirmed to Efe, the day ended with more than 45 arrests, mostly by public disorder. 18 detainees: expert teams with sniffer dogs were patrolling the route of the procession for explosives, while overflying helicóperos within the operation to protect Prince William and his now wife, Kate Middleton. At 10:00 GMT, a spokesman for the Metropolitan Police said there had been 18 arrests, including one for alleged sexual assault, three for drunkenness and three for theft. The onlookers who waited for hours to take a look at the royal couple in open carriage pulled by horses and said the atmosphere was cheerful despite the large number of people and heavy police presence. "For the number of people that are here, everything is very festive " , Becton said Davis, 42, who lives in London but is originally from North Carolina. " The atmosphere is great "
The monarchy is an outdated and undemocratic political system in which the kings enjoy an automatic benefit and life for themselves and their offspring generations.
